Catholic-Islamic Alliance (CIA).



Em 26 de Fevereiro, a missão permanente do Paquistão nas Nações Unidas, escrevia, em nome da Organização das Conferências Islâmicas e a propósito da Resolução Brasileira, o seguinte:

«The concept of "sexual orientation" has never been defined in the UN...»;
«Sexual orientation as a human right or possible basis of discrimination is not enshrined in the UDHR...»;
«All minorities who could possibly be marginalized in society have been identified in the Declaration on the Rights of Persons Belonging to National or Ethnic, Religious and Linguistic Minorities...»;
«The list of sexual behaviour could always be expanded to include grossly errant behaviour like pedophilia...»;
«In our perspective sexual orientation is not a human rights issue. Instead it is related to social values and cultural norms...»;
«The concept of the traditional family constitutes the foundation of the human civilization...».

Dias depois, a 1 de Março, a Missão Permanente da Santa Sé nas Nações Unidas escrevia uma carta sobre o mesmo assunto:

«A person's "sexual orientation"... is not a source of rights. Furthermore the exercise of a person's rights can be legitimately limited, without that being discrimination...»;
«The idea behind the Project of Resolution... was not so much protection from dicrimination as the promotion of "sexual orientation" as an interpretative tool of human rights...»;
«This appears to be a preliminary step to claiming equal treatment regarding "marriage" for persons of the same sex, and regarding adoption for "unisexual households"...»;
«The "UN agreed language" does not include "sexual orientation" among the causes of discrimination...»;
«"Sexual Orientation" is objectively on a different level from race, language, religion, sex...»;
«It is not clear whether "sexual orientation" is considered a spontaneous tendency of the person or the free and conscious exercise of one's sexual impulses...;
« The Project would be in contrast with all existing national legislations that permit marriage only between persons of different sex and adoption only by heterosexual couples...»;
«All persons, unisexual included, have the same rights... Non-heterosexual persons are protected... by existing international legislation... Its (o Projecto de Resolução) presentation is superfluous unless the aim is to open the door for new rights for unisexual and transexual persons in the area of adoption... and marriage...»

O argumento islâmico é de mais básica e fundamental recusa da própria consideração da orientação sexual como questão válida para pensar. O argumento católico é mais capcioso, manipulando conceitos, mentindo descaradamente, e até fazendo uma guerra linguística com a invenção de termos como "unissexual" (!). Mas o mais curioso é que a Santa Sé, obcecada como está com o casamento e a adopção, faz o favor de ser uma espécie de advogado, retoricamente sofisticado, dos "fundamentos" islâmicos...

PS: Que eu saiba estes documentos não estão disponíveis na Net (tão-pouco procurei, pois a vida não é só blogar...). Foram apresentados numa conferência por um membro da ILGA-Europe.
