Stepford Wives ("Mulheres Perfeitas"). Deliciosa versão do velho filme de 'terror patriarcal'. Sobretudo por Glenn Close no papel da mulher mais machista que o papa (perdão, que o macho). No dia seguinte comecei a ler The Edible Woman, de Margaret Atwood, e duas citações parecem comentar aquele filme. A primeira é a epígrafe, retirada duma receita do inócuo (?) The Joy of Cooking, um livro de culinária que se encontra em todas as casas americanas: «The surface on which you work (preferably marble), the tools, the ingredients and your fingers should be chilled throughout the operation...». A segunda é da autora, na introdução: «The goals of the feminist movement have not been achieved, and those who claim we're living in a post-feminist era are either sadly mistaken or tired of thinking about the whole subject».
